Softscape takes privacy rights very seriously for our customers and our customers’ clients. Our systems provide multiple layers of sophisticated security designed to protect the privacy of our customers and our customers’ clients’ data at every opportunity and at all costs. Softscape works with all of our customers to ensure that their systems are deployed in a manner that comply with any identified requirements related to available HUD, HIPAA, and other government regulations. Specific security measures include:
Customers’ clients decide what information they provide to their case worker, and what information they would like shared with other agency services. Customers’ clients are under no obligation to provide any information, and can refuse to share that information with other agencies in the continuum of care.
Softscape’s systems provide advanced role-based security that grants or denies individual users access to specific data. This restricted access enables agency workers to only view information appropriate to them based on their role in the organization. For example, intake personnel may not have access to the complete database, and even case workers who have access to medical health information may not see information from other providers if that information hasn’t been designated to be shared.
Data is categorized by agency and is not automatically shared with other agencies on the system. Agencies choose what information will be shared, but cannot override their clients stated intentions.
Softscape’s password standards allow conformance with strict HUD and HIPAA regulations. These regulations mandate the complexity of passwords, how frequently they must be changed, and how users are certified to use the system. This ensures that every practical measure is taken to protect access to the system.
In addition, Softscape continues to monitor best practices for confidentiality and is continually reviewing access procedures to ensure that client data is treated securely and confidentially.
